Beware of Spoofed Calls and Texts Pretending to Be Frontwave
We are seeing an increase in fraudulent calls and text messages targeting members this week. Scammers are spoofing Frontwave’s phone number to make their calls appear legitimate. Some are even instructing members to call 760.631.8799, which is our official 24/7 automated banking system (IVR).
These scammers use the IVR to make their story sound more convincing, then follow up later to request additional personal details like card numbers, PINs, or Online Banking codes. This is a scam.
What to do if you receive one of these calls
- Hang up immediately. Do not share any personal information or call the number back.
- Verify directly with us. Call Frontwave at 760.631.8700 or use the number listed on your debit or credit card to confirm whether contact was legitimate.
- Report the call. Our team can confirm whether contact was legitimate and take steps to help secure your account.
Remember
- We will never call, text, or email you asking for your card number, PIN, CVV, Online Banking credentials, or Social Security Number.
- We will never ask for a one-time code sent to your phone or email. Scammers use this trick to reset your Online Banking password. Hang up immediately if this happens.
- We will never pressure you to act fast or claim your account will be frozen unless you respond. That is a red flag.
If you are unsure whether a call is real, hang up and call us directly at 760.631.8700 or use another official number listed on this website or the back of your card. Do not call back the number that called you or appears in your recent calls list.
How to protect yourself
- Verify before you trust. Always use the number on our website or your card, not one provided in a text, email, or voicemail.
- Keep your codes private. Never share one-time passcodes with anyone, even if they say they are from Frontwave.
- Watch for pressure tactics. Real Frontwave team members will never rush or threaten you.
- Report suspicious activity. If you think you have been targeted, contact us right away. The sooner you act, the faster we can help protect your account.
We are here to help keep your accounts safe and secure. If you believe you have been targeted or shared information by mistake, please contact us as soon as possible. Together, we can stop fraud in its tracks.
