Protecting your accounts, personal data and financial well-being is our priority. Scammers always look for ways to steal information, but you’re not in this alone. We are committed to keeping your accounts secure and giving you the tools to recognize and stop fraud before it happens.
How We Protect You
Monitor transactions for unusual activity and alert you to suspicious transactions
Use advanced fraud detection technology to keep your accounts secure
Never call, email or text to ask for Online Banking credentials, card numbers, CVV codes, PINs, Social Security numbers or one-time passcodes
Never ask you to read back a security code sent to your phone
Never pressure you to act fast or threaten consequences for not responding
If someone contacts you asking for this information, it’s a scam. Hang up and call Frontwave at 760.631.8700 or use the number listed on your debit or credit card to confirm whether contact was legitimate.

Fraud Threats
AI-Powered Scams and Deepfake Fraud
Scammers use artificial intelligence to create fake emails, phone calls and videos that sound and look real.
Hang up and call the official number if a call or message seems suspicious
Be cautious of urgent requests for money or sensitive information, even if the voice sounds familiar
Cryptocurrency and Investment Scams
Fake investment platforms and social media scams promise high returns but steal your money.
Ignore investment offers that sound too good to be true
Verify financial services through official regulatory websites before investing
Pig Butchering Scams
Scammers build online relationships over time, then persuade victims to invest in fraudulent platforms.
Be cautious if someone you meet online quickly starts talking about investments
Never send money or invest based on unverified claims
Synthetic Identity Fraud
Fraudsters mix real and fake information to create new identities, open accounts and take out loans.
Check your credit report for accounts you don’t recognize
Freeze your credit if you suspect identity theft
Spoofing and Caller ID Scams
Scammers fake caller ID numbers to make it look like Frontwave is calling. Some are even instructing members to call 760.631.8799, which is our official 24/7 automated banking system (IVR). These scammers use the IVR to make their story sound more convincing, then follow up later to request additional personal details like card numbers, PINs, or Online Banking codes. This is a scam.
Never trust caller ID alone. Dial the official number yourself
If a caller pressures you to act fast, hang up and verify the request through official channels
Report the call. Our team can confirm whether contact was legitimate and take steps to help secure your account
Identity Theft
Identity theft occurs when someone uses personal information without your permission to commit fraud or other crimes.
Identity thieves often target people's names, Social Security Numbers and credit card numbers.
Our partners at GreenPath Financial Wellness offer excellent advice on how to protect yourself against identity theft.
Update virus protection software periodically, and after every new virus alert is announced
Do not download files or open hyperlinks sent from people you don’t know
Use a firewall program to prevent your computer from being accessible to hackers
Use a secure browser to guard the security of your online transactions
Enter personal and financial information only when there is a “lock” icon on the browser’s status bar and look for the URL to read “https” versus “http”
Card Skimming
Skimmers are small, illegal electronic devices that fit on top of real card readers on ATMs and at merchants' self-service sale terminals.
The skimmers are designed to blend in with the rest of the machine, so they can be tough to spot
As you slide your credit or debit card into a compromised machine, the skimmer reads the magnetic strip on your card and stores the card number. Your PIN can be captured, too
You’re most likely to see these devices at gas pumps, ATMs or kiosks that sell tickets to public transportation
